Materials testing lab for product and raw-material questions
Does a delivery match the material you approved? Has the chemistry changed between a satisfactory batch and a rejected one? Materials testing turns these questions into a defined analytical comparison. Chengfenbao is a chemical analysis lab in Hangzhou, China, working with product developers, manufacturers and purchasing teams. We agree what evidence would help your decision before choosing the methods. A chemical finding can explain a difference worth investigating; it does not automatically establish why a product behaved differently in use.
Discuss your sampleWhat we analyze
We analyze paints and coatings, printing inks, adhesives and sealants, rubber and elastomers, plastics and masterbatch, additives and raw materials, cleaners, lubricating greases, concrete admixtures, and cosmetics and personal care products. The accepted sample form is confirmed before shipment. Describe the material as it will arrive, including any curing, dilution or separation already performed.
A project may compare resin-family evidence, inorganic ingredients, retained additives, solids content or moisture. For a batch investigation, provide an approved reference and the questioned batch, with matching sampling locations and storage conditions where possible. Tell us which difference matters to your process so the comparison answers a practical question.
How we work
FTIR helps compare binder and polymer chemistry. GC-MS and GC-MS/MS examine suitable volatile and accessible organic components. XRF and XRD provide complementary information about elements and crystalline ingredients. ICP-MS and ICP-OES can investigate selected elemental differences. Analysts select a combination appropriate to the submitted material rather than apply the same panel to every product.
High-resolution LC-MS and LC-MS/MS help investigate suitable additives. Wet-chemistry measurements such as solids content, moisture, pH and UV-Vis can provide context for a formulation comparison. We distinguish measured properties from interpretations about ingredients, and explain when a sample matrix limits the conclusion.
What you receive
The conclusion card answers the agreed question in plain language and relates the findings to the submitted sample. We distinguish analytical evidence from background information supplied with the inquiry.
The component table lists supported identities and estimated proportions. Some entries may be chemical families rather than individual compounds. Proportions are semi-quantitative estimates, not quantitative measurements; a complete formula is not promised.
The data appendix records the methods used and supporting evidence. A separate account of what could not be determined explains unresolved components, overlapping findings and relevant sample limitations, so your team can judge what the report supports.
How to start
Tell us the product type and use, available sample quantity, any known formulation information, what you want to find out and whether a reference sample is available. We reply within 24 hours and agree the analytical scope before issuing a fixed quotation in USD.
Samples accepted worldwide; contact us before shipping. We confirm sample quantity, packaging and documents with you first. Samples already in China can go by domestic courier. Request an NDA before sharing confidential details if needed. The quotation confirms the project schedule and delivery arrangements.
Frequently asked questions
- Can you test against an approved sample?
- Yes. Send the reference and questioned sample with clear labels. We agree the comparison scope and report supported similarities and differences, with the limitations of the selected methods.
- Does materials testing cover every product property?
- No. This service focuses on chemical composition and the listed wet-chemistry measurements. Describe a performance concern so we can clarify which part chemical analysis can address.
- Do I need to know the ingredients?
- Share any reliable formulation information and distinguish it from assumptions. An unknown ingredient can be the analytical question, but we still confirm receiving requirements before you send the sample.
- Can a supplier send samples from China?
- Yes. A supplier can send samples already in China by domestic courier after we confirm the arrangements. Keep your project reference and sample identities consistent across the parcel and inquiry.
